Join Magpie Mahjong for a special Halloween open-play event inside the historic Tower Grove Park Director’s Residence, an 1860s mansion rarely open to the public. Enjoy an evening of mahjong with the opportunity to tour the historic home.
Magpie Mahjong will provide everything you need to play—beautiful mahjong tiles, designer mats, racks and accessories—so you can simply show up and have fun. Light bites and non-alcoholic refreshments are included with your ticket, and STL Barkeep will be behind the bar with cocktails, wine, and other drinks available for purchase.
For an extra Halloween treat, guests will also have the chance to play with Miss Mahjong’s latest sold-out Halloween tile set, plus enjoy a little extra mystical fun with tarot readings available during the evening.
Come with your mahj group or attend alone and meet new friends! Costumes and festive attire are encouraged.

All levels are welcome, but there is no formal instruction during this event. Open play is intended for players who have completed a Mahjong 101 lesson or already have playing experience. If you’re newer to the game—especially if you’re fresh off a Magpie 101 or 102—Ali will be on hand to guide you and offer tips as needed.
This is an event with open seating; Magpie Mahjong does not assign seats. If you’re attending with a friend or group, it’s best to arrive on time to secure your table together.
