Show-Me Mahj 101 (Mahjong 101) is an introductory American mahjong lesson for mahjong beginners without any prior experience. Meet the tiles, review the card, and learn the National Mah Jongg League rules. Join one of our public lessons listed on our Events page or host your own private lesson—I’ll bring everything needed to learn and play to you! Duration: 3 hours
Private Lesson: $75 per person for groups of 4 to 6 / $60 per person for groups of 7 to 16
Show-Me Mahj 102
Show-Me Mahj 102 (Mahjong 102) builds upon what you learned in Show-Me Mahj 101 but with further expansion on the rules and more focus on strategy and etiquette. The lesson includes guided play so you can put what you’re learning into practice with hands-on guidance and tips. Join one of our public lessons listed on our Events page or host your own private lesson—I’ll bring everything needed to learn and play to you! Duration: 3 hours
Private Lesson: $75 per person for groups of 4 to 6 / $60 per person for groups of 7 to 16
Gateway to Mahjong Series
Help your new mahjong group take flight with this three-part series of lessons that includes Show-Me Mahj 101 (Mahjong 101, 3 hours), Show-Me Mahj 102 (Mahjong 102, 3 hours), and Guided Play (3 hours) for one flat rate. All three dates must be scheduled at the time of booking. Total Duration: Up to 9 hours
Private Lesson Series: $160 per person for groups of 4 to 6 / $140 per person for groups of 7 to 16
Host a Mahjong Night!
Host a mahjong night! Gather your mahjong-playing friends, and I’ll bring everything you need to play. I’ll be on hand to guide play, offer tips, and provide one-on-one strategy. This is not for beginners but for players with some mahjong experience and basic knowledge of the rules. Duration: Up to 3 hours of play
Private Mahjong Night: $40 per person for groups of 4 to 6 / $25 per person for groups of 7 to 24
Meet Me at Mahj Open Play Events
The best part of mahjong? Connection and community! I host local St. Louis mahjong open play events and pop-ups to foster new friendships, offer a fun night out, and encourage networking. Past and upcoming open play nights have been held at the beautiful greenhouse at Maypop Coffee & Garden Shop in Webster Groves and Crema Coffeehouse in Central West End, St. Louis.
