Our Mahj Madness league is every Thursday night in March: March 5, March 12, March 19, and March 26. Game play runs from 7 to 9 p.m., but doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The league will be held at The Era Collective building, the same building where Crema Coffeehouse is, in the building’s beautiful ballroom or game room.

This league is intended to be a social, fun league that is beginner-friendly. If you’ve taken a Mahjong 101 lesson and have played enough to be comfortable with the rules and flow of the game, you should feel comfortable joining this league! However, this is no guidance or instruction during league play, so if you’ve never played the game, you’re not ready for this league yet.

If you know in advance you have to miss one of the dates, that’s OK! As long as you let Ali of Magpie Mahjong know of your absence in advance (at least 12 hours notice via email) you will not be penalized for missing a play session. You simply will not receive points for that session, because you’re not playing. If you no-show without notice, 10 points will be deducted from your cumulative league score.

We will have prizes for first place, second place, and third place. We’re working on finalizing some fabulous prizes—to be announced soon!
