Ready for some friendly mahj competition? Join us Thursdays this March for Mahj Madness, a four-week American mahjong league intended for beginner-friendly competition, social play, and community!

• Thursday evenings in March: March 5, March 12, March 19, March 26

• Play time: 7 to 9 p.m. - Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

• National Mah Jongg League rules (no blanks)

• 2 hours of play each week

• Beginner-friendly simplified scoring

• Crema Coffeehouse drinks and food available for purchase

Location: The Era Collective building (home of Crema Coffeehouse), 275 Union Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108

Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. - Mahjong 101 at Stubborn German Brewing Company in Waterloo, Illinois. Learn how to play mahjong! Magpie Mahjong is partnering with Stubborn German Brewing Company for Show-Me Mahj 101, an introductory mahjong lesson for mahjong beginners without any prior experience. Meet the tiles, review the card, and learn the National Mah Jongg League rules. Everything you need to learn and play—including beautiful mahjong tiles and accessories—will be provided. Stubborn German beer and drinks will be available for purchase.
